Hiyam Housing

Bears’ Lair Indigenous Strategies (BLIS), in partnership with Sunspear Renewables, supported the installation of a commercial rooftop solar energy system for Hiy̓ám̓ Housing within the Squamish Nation. The project focused on advancing community-owned renewable energy infrastructure that reduces operating costs, lowers emissions, and strengthens long-term energy resilience.

By supporting the development and implementation of this solar installation, BLIS helped demonstrate how Indigenous-led partnerships can deliver practical clean-energy solutions that create environmental, economic, and community benefits.
